1968 390 non gt air cleaner

this is a decent non GT 390 air cleaner from a 1968 intact lid needs re chrome $265 thanks Bruce a4278v@yahoo.com e

I’m not 100% sure but is that from a Cougar? It looks my 67 S codes air cleaner but not our 68 XR7G’s .

I think that is a 1967 5.5 litre air cleaner. It may have been used on export cars as well in 68 but that is only a guess.

Neal you may be correct,I’m always learning something new about Cougars. Here is a picture of my 67 air cleaner and it does not have the breather tube elbow on it.

I never thought about export cars and how they might have been different. Thanks for the insight.

I should have looked closer. That is a California Closed crank case emissions unit. That elbow goes to the breather cap on the L/H valve cover.
