I believe that even though these were pulled from a 1967 Mustang that they are out of a 1969 Thunderbird (the Flash’R) is a clue… Rarely did these make it into a Cougar as it made more sense just to buy an xr7. IIRC they discontinued the option mid 1968. Does any one have a picture of an original set in a 68 Mustang or Cougar? I snapped them in a 67 console pad just to confirm the diameter is correct, seems to be.
This listing has me wondering… What would the “Flash’R” be?
They look like T Bird
Examples for/from 67 Mustang application
Bezels are very different

We have the hidden lettered 67 version, just wondered if there was more than one version for 68 with visible lettering. Just a coincidence that someone else has them listed on ebay as Cougar / Mustang I guess. Thank you.
I think I got my facts straight in this ebay listing…

For the 1967 and early 1968 Thunderbirds the FLASH’R was the visual sign that the emergency flashers had been activated.
I’ve seen it a couple of times in the more optioned T-birds, with their version of a ‘convenience group’ package. IIRC it didn’t just remain illuminated - it also flashed along with the front and rear signals. The relay shown in the sixth picture should be the emergency flasher relay, basic 10B926.
OK, I will buy that. Surprised that a T-Bird would use a Mustang C7ZZ harness but why not?
