Hi All,
I have 1968 Cougar, If you subscribe to Hemmings then you probably recognize the car.
Sadly when I had the car was outside on a windy day a screen from my house got pulled off and hit the hood of the car.
I attached some photos of the damage, the car was my father’s and he was much more inclined on how to approach the repair.
What do you guys think I do?
a lot of filler primer maybe spot putty and blocking to perfection…$1500

I feel your pain. The wind blew the trash dumpster into my quarter panel. But since it was original paint, I just cleaned it up the best I could with lacquer thinner followed by polishing compound. Yeah, the deep scratches are still there, but they are less noticeable with the scuffs gone. It’s now just part of the car’s “patina”.

That’s a beautiful car, sorry to hear of your mishap.
A good bodyshop (if you aren’t comfortable trying) could wet sand and buff some of those scratches out. Some look too deep to sand/buff out, but the panel will surely look a lot better than it does now.
