1968 cougar vacuum questions?

On my 68 cougar 302 ,c4 .
There is a vacuum on the pass side .
Is it for the trans , One single vacuum ?
Driver side has one that goes into two.
What are those for ?

Reason I’m asking , I’m going to a 351w and it only has one on the pass side .

Can i take the two from the driver side and jump them into the pass ?

The one that has 2 lines coming out of it is for the headlight system. The other one is for the transmission.

What you have is a bunch of aftermarket stuff. Originally it had a brass fitting screwed into the passenger side with every vacuum port. To see what the original stuff looked like get a factory shop manual.

Royce to funny .
The question wasn’t what’s original or aftermarket or how much or to SEE what the factory stuff lol looked like .

The question still remains .

Can i put the one for the headlight system on
With the transmission ?

Ty Cathouse for the info , helpful and respectful unlike others .
but do you know if i can put them all on one vacuum being i only have one .
Or… will i have to drill and tap one dedicated for headlights ?

I do not know for sure if you can put everything on one vacuum source but my guess would be yes. I base that on some other years of Cougars will have a single vacuum tree on the intake that feeds all the vacuum needs. Hopefully someone with more mechanical knowledge will chime in to either confirm my guess or tell me I am wrong.

You can split off to the transmission, but it must be before the headlight check valve.

Typically the factory brass fitting would be on a single source for small block Cougars. Big block cars had a U shaped duct that routed PCV gases to each end of the intake but the guys in charge did not think that was necessary with the small block for whatever reason.

Ok ive found a dual line vacuum.
Ill put the trans on one side and headlights on the other. They will have its own line.
Ty for the info .

For what your trying to accomplish yes all on one port should be fine but be aware of that check valve

Ok ty
