I would switch air shocks to the bad column. Good luck, a first gen with a cowl leak is a tough sale. Very difficult to repair properly.

Come on guys , why so negative and so much car bashing goes on here.??
I don’t get it.
How about the positive !
Xr7 J code and yes it’s a good project car.
Hey Hotrods14 post some more pics of the interior and the plus points. Pics of the underside and the floors will help too.
Also one of the Driver Door Tag is important.

Thanks for the backup.
I will get some more pics up ASAP.

Sometimes reality is a negative. It’s not bashing to point that out. We are supposed to educate people. Sometimes it’s not all rainbows and unicorns.

Looks pretty good from here as far as the value of the parts. Not sure I would restore this particular car with a known rusted out cowl. Can you tell us, is the interior black or green? This could be the perfect parts car for that price if the interior is as good as it looks.

Sone pics of underneath, maybe pull up the carpet, maybe under the hood at each side.

How is the frame and torque boxes?

This car appears to have a nice doors
panels, and good interior. A Huge plus. The body looks straight. A good potential project car.
A leaking cowl could be a small leak and a minimal fix. Or worse and more involved.
But no members on here should basically kill a cars chance of a sale; by spewing out negative crap without at least seeing the car in person themselves.
And AL you can keep the rainbows and unicorns all for yourself, you earned em.

Thank those of you that gave me constructive feedback.
I posted here hoping it would be the place someone was watching for a good Cougar project.
They are no longer making vintage Cougars.
Sold car locally, he was tickled.
Good luck to all!!!
