1968 Ford T5

I was at a local cruise in today. One of the members of our club just purchased a T5. He knew just a little about the car. Export for Germany but did not know why it did not carry the Mustang name on the car. Different emblems an its titled as a T5 and not a mustang.

I looked on line but found very little info. Has anyone here heard of this type of car? Is there a website that you can direct me to look at. He is an older gentleman and does not have a computer to look up information. I said I would try to find out what I could for him.

I heard once that a German Truck manufacturer had the copyright to the Mustang name on the German market back then. To avoid any marketing problems Ford decided to give the Mustangs sold in Germany the T5 name.

Thanks for that info. I’m still searching for info but not finding anything. I think it is a cool car. Needs work and his plan is to restore it.

I heard that it was a Mustang lawn mower.
