I removed the Bezel, so how does the switch come out? I can push it back a little bit.
There should be a ‘support bracket’ that the switch is held by. There should be a tiny nut that screws in from the bottom that is stopping you. Once you get the nut down, you can push the switch back, undo the connector, and re assemble.
Thanks, the picture should help. How does the wire connector come apart? Any trick?
For 1968, the ignition switch is a push fit. The left switch shows there’s a little window. They are at 12 o’clock and 6 on each side. The harnesse has the latch, one on each side. It must be pressed in on both sides to release it. The windows are inline with the paperclip hole used to release the cylinder. If you’re doing it blind.
What is holding the switch from moving backward is the harness itself. It is very rigid. It is not necessary to remove the ignition bracket as it only holds the switch forward with the bezel. Hope this helped.
The trick is to use the thumb and pointer finger and squeeze and wiggle, squeeze and wiggle and pull. Be careful! It is sharp under there.
