1968 Mercury Cougar Dealer brochure

I am looking for 1968 Dealer brochures for my 68 Mercury Cougar. Found a few on ebay but looking for a web site that might have something else. Here is one that I found on ebay.

Good to see you got on board! Welcome!

What you pictured is the main, 1968 Mercury Cougar dealer brochure - what you would have gotten if you walked into a L-M dealer in '68.

Some interesting trivia - if you look closely at the Cougars on the cover you’ll see that they are actually '67s that have had the side marker lights airbrushed on to look like '68s.

There is also the overall Mercury car line brochure that includes the Cougar, along with all of the other cars Mercury had for sale in 1968.

From there, once you go down the original dealer print collateral marketing materials rabbit hole there are dozens of pieces. Goes without saying that the rarer the piece, the more expensive.

Those main brochures are plentiful and easy to find - they must have printed up a gazillion of them.

If you haven’t already, you could Google “Automotive Literature” and see if there are many dealers out there. There used to be quite a few but I haven’t checked recently.

Big car shows like the Carlisle Ford Nationals are a good place to score original literature. There will be multiple dealers there with everything organized and you can dig through it and physically inspect items.

I will try and scan some of the pieces in my collection and post them on this thread later when I have the time.

In fact the white Cougar in the background doesn’t even have the rear ( red ) reflector air-brushed onto the quarter panel ! It still shows the rear Cougar name plate in place. So much for accuracy in advertising with L-M 1968 marketing materials !
