Yesterday…while searching for Classic Cars to buy/sell in the high Desert of California, I found a shed full of 1968 Cougar parts.
As far as I can tell there is a set of front hideaway headlights…a hood and deck lid. Both front fenders and a right door. There may be additional parts as there is a 1968 Cougar shell with no motor or trans. The shell has front and rear lights, marker lights, bumpers and misc.

A ‘barn find’!! Better check the vin number it may be a once in a lifetime something rare 
Where would I find the VIN as the drivers side door is a long-time ago replacement due to an accident. There is no dash id. There is no fender tag.
No motor to trace and no hood markers.
Any suggestions?
I know where the Dodge-Plymouth-Chrysler VIN’s are located as that is what I was looking to find …when I found the Cougar.

If the car is a 1968 the dash VIN tag is located on the passenger side of the dash, visible through the windshield. The VIN would also be stamped on the top of the fender apron just in front of the shock tower. If the fenders are already pulled it should be easy to see the stampings, they will be on both sides left and right. There also may be a buck tag (the Ford version of a Mopar fender tag) bolted to the front of the radiator support on the passenger side. This tag is about the size of a standard business card held in place by one phillips head screw.

Both front fenders are on the shell but the right front fender has been replaced at some time…different color. I didn’t"t see a dash tag as the dash is in pieces and coated with dirt.
The “shed parts” are very clean and were probably secured some time about 25 years ago to use in restoration of the shell.
I hope someone on the west coast with a 1968 Cougar contacts me. The parts need to be used.
