Just wanted to introduce myself and my car real quick… I’m coming across a couple of questions here and there… believe it or not, tons of questions can get answered just looking at Don’s website and the detail he has there and on youtube. I got this car about 10 years ago but life, family, careers, etc have prevented me from jumping in with both feet.
But now, im in with both feet.
Shes a 1968 standard base model, came with a 302 2V and c-4 automatic. It has power steering, but I got the Marti report the other day, and it was apparently produced w/o power steering. Its a manual drum brake car and had dealer installed AC under the dash. Grecian gold with Parchment.
I just got a rebuilt 302 with Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb. Got it all dressed up and ready to go in.
And last night I picked up a set of almost brand new 15 inch staggered Cragar SS wheels and tires…
Got a set of floor pans ordered and should be here any day… and Don and his guys just got me new keys and trunk lock (me and my screwdriver won that battle about 10 years ago, FYI… but now i needed to replace it)
So its making progress.
For questions… Marti Report says Parchment with Nugget Gold Appointments… what would be gold? I cant find any photos that would indicate anything other than parchment?
Second, does anyone have a good clear photo of the parking brake cable routing ? Im replacing the floor pants and the cables are currently just hanging there from where the brackets rusted previously…
third… IF my car really did have PS added after the fact, what do I need to check for to make sure I get the correct replacement parts… was there a difference between what was readily available to add it vs the way it came built? It was built in December of 67…
