1968 Standard Cougar Catbalu

5 spoke! Beautiful cat, Jim.

Here’s my yellow 68 XR-7 with the Magstars. Looks very nice. Now I need to get the interior, spare and gas in so it brings the backend down a bit.

Looks great! I just about went blind flipping back and forth between the two wheel styles

I love the Shelby 10 spokes but on Catbalu, the Magstars look way better.

Yours turned out great, Scott. Glad you went with those.

So am I. I was thinking about those 10 spokes when I saw Andrew’s pictures of them on the green 67. Those Magstars just grabbed me… In a good way. What sold me was seeing them on the original Trans Am Cougars. That’s what was mounted early on.

The car looks great. I only hope I can get mine done like that.
Question: what is that cable and framing around the car?

That is something that is put up around a car while on display at a show. It keeps people from being able to walk right up to the car and touch it.

Jim used down riggers from a fishing boat and attached the cable around it. he uses it when displaying Cougar 1 at a show.

Very cool. I thought it was some kind of frame for storing the car outside. Something I need especially in the winter.

Magstars. Those Shelby wheels must be one of the ugliest wheels around. The Eleanors look better
