Finally getting around to posting about this project in the hopes that I can get some friendly advice and avoid some mistakes. Would be awesome if somebody got any takeaways from my journey.
Had a 68 Standard in 1990 when I was 17, wrecked it few months after and almost lost my leg. Had to get another and was lucky to find a 67 XR-7. Originally Lime Frost (PO painted it black) with Parchment interior. Traded it in around 1994 for $700. I have been looking for the same one to come up for sale ever since. Loved that car. Much regret.
Decided to jump back into this obsession last year. After missing out on many local listings and getting sniped on the auction sites I pulled the trigger on another 1968 that I found in PA. Originally Diamond Blue with black interior. 302 2V. Marti Report states 1 of 32 with this paint and trim combo.
I’m neck deep in this (more than I bargained for) and will post a bunch to catch up to where I am currently. It needs A LOT of work.
