1968 xr-7 with tach ignition to coil

I am putting wiring harness back in and i didnt remove it. I read on another thread for tach models the ignition passes through tach. I have juice coming into the red but the black wire is dead. Not sure if its grounding issue or tach issue. Also, whats best way to bypass the tach?

New to the site. 68 was basket case. Completely disassembled. I have it painted, new lines, suspension, a motor and trans in it. Trying to finish ot up for my sons first car.

Unplug the tach, connect the two wires that went to the tach together to complete the circuit to the coil.
