1969, 70 explorer disk brake conversion

A local guy is advertising a 1969 Mach1 front suspension factory disk brake including all suspension brakes,.spindle, disks ,shocks calibers springs hoses, upper lower control arms, ball joints all for $200.00. Supposed to have 5000.00 miles on the front end. He is installing a modular front end and an aftermarket rear disk setup. I will eventually convert the front drums to disks with this stuff.

He also has a Ford explorer rear disk conversion setup for sale. Has anyone had experience with converting rear drums to disks? How hard is it and can a parts changer such as myself with 4 thumbs and a knuckle be able to tackle it in my garage?

Thanks for any input SalD Cougar Geek

Sal,

I don’t have any experience with the Explorer setup, but I did use Fastmerc’s(mc.net) Crown Vic conversion…and being a knuckle-dragging parts-changer myself, I would think you’d be able to do it, if I was able on a similar conversion.

You might look him up over there, it’s a good price for his pieces, and he has full-blown instructions, to boot!
