I’m new here so I’m sorry if this was previously discussed. I have a 1969 cougar 351w I have fully rebuilt it mechanically and am now working on the interior. Was curious what seats fit in the cougar as far as years that are compatible and or mustang seats that are compatible with the 1969 convertible cougar.
Well the Mustang and Pinto seats will physically bolt in place. Are they compatible? No, the upholstery will not match. They will look out of place and cheaper. Can you buy Cougar specific seat covers? Yes, you may have to use google to find West Coast Classic Cougars.

1967-70 Cougar and Mustang front bucket seats all interchange physically. 1967 are low back and do not have seat back latches. 1968 are mostly low backs but do latch, 1969 latch and have adjustable headrests, 1970 are all high backed. There are some rare 1969 high back seats.
For the rear seats you can only use 1969-70 Mustang or Cougar convertible seats.

The mustang seat foam for the 69 is the same. Upholstery colors need to be researched.
