1969 cougar xr7 No Brake lights or flashers

I looked at a couple of old posts and figured I might as well throw it out there. While driving my 69 to the warehouse for storage a passer by told me I had no brake lights. During the restoration I replaced the turn signal switch put in a new brake switch checked all the wiring to make sure I had 12 volts to the flasher can and the turn signal can and brake switch. I went to the back of the car and disconnected the sequencer box the black connector and checked the 511 the 442 and 445 I believe and hit the brake pedal and am getting 12 volts output when I press the peddle but no brake lights I also found that the flashers are also not working press the button and the 2 green lights turn on but doesn’t flash. Blinkers, lights, turn signals all work. Just no brake lights and no flashers. Help!!! I cant look at anymore schematics.

With the sequential controller box completely disconnected, you should still have brake lights and turn signals on the inner light for each side, (442) LH green/orange and (445) RH orange/blue.

If not, you probably have a bad turn signal switch.

Thanks the one I put in is new. From WCC

Verify that the turn signal switch connections are still good, based on the table in the troubleshooting guide. http://www.thuntek.net/cougars_unlimited/TurnSignalSwDiagnosis.pdf

Then the next thing to check is the connector 511 and 385 pins on the car side.

Make sure none of them are fried (see below).

So if i disconnect the sequencer i should get power to 442 and 445 when i hit the brake pedal?

Yes, that is correct.

On the 1969-73 Cougars, the inner lights, on each side, are connected directly to the turn signal switch. The sequencer only controls the outer two lights on each side.
