1969 hood lip and deck trim

Just got in a batch of restored trim and came up with 2 67-8 aluminum deck mouldings (will fit 69-70) and two 69 hood lips. They have a pitting or a hole buffed through on a thin spot. If you were going to paint your trim black you could use them, better than nothing right? Just mention which one you would like when you make an order with us and we will include it with your shipment.

Stupid question, but couldn’t a talented tig welder fill in the pits and holes on these so they could be sanded and buffed back out to be “good” again? (A talented person, not the machine)

The problem is when you re-anodize, the composition of aluminum will always be dissimilar which will lead to discoloration on the patched area. With pitting nothing can be done to fill dozens of divots other than painting them. We send in a handful of edgy cores each time we have a large batch done with the attitude of “please try, no problem if it does not work”.
