1969 Repro Aluminum Rocker Mouldings / New Item!

I ordered a set and expect them Wednesday. I’ll report back here when I have them opened up and given them a once-over.

Thank you! From the get go Ford had issues with these falling off. Dynacorn includes an extra plate to aid in a solid install and I have yet to try it out. The Ford TSB said to randomly install self tapping screws on each end…

Yeah I have those random sheet metal screws in mine. There is a very good trim resto shop here in Detroit that I’ll take my OEM pieces to after I swap them to see what repair, dent removal, poor paint removal, and polish will cost.

The problem is most will not re-anodize. At first they will look fantastic but in time will look milky grey. Our restored version is anodized but shipping them can be a hassle.

Thanks Don. Being near the Motor City means I have options for re-anodizing it post repair and polishing.

This is an old post, but hopefully you see this. I can’t figure out how to deal with the brackets on the repro rocker mouldings, so when you wrote to randomly install self tappers are you talking about attaching the brackets to the rockers, or drilling through the mouldings themselves into the rocker panel? That’s the last piece of trim i have to put on after painting and i have no clue where to start. thanks!

If I had to guess he was talking about mounting the plastic piece with the screw. don’t drill through your nice new rocker molding.

the information online has been so spotty and when i got the mouldings from NPD all i got were the 4 support brackets with no plastic clips or instructions and since the OEM clips don’t work with the repops, i’m trying to figure out my plan of attack to get them on. i didn’t think he meant drilling through the mouldings, but i wanted to make sure.
