1969 Reproduction Hidden Headlight Vacuum Hose Set

I hope that a number of members can give me their feedback regarding reproduction hidden headlight vacuum hoses.
I would like to buy a set, and am aware that they are ( were ? ) available from WCCC, who I believe obtained them from Critter Creek Cougar ( in Canada ). I’m also aware that Jack Brooks at DeadNutsOn is close to a reproduction set ( at least that’s what he last told me in the late fall, 2019 ).

Has anyone bought one of the sets from Critter Creek ? Quality, authenticity is it equivalent to original - could it qualify as concours ? I spoke to Darren Patras ( owner ) and he indicated that his is identical, including the bonding of the three hoses ( white, yellow and green ) but his firewall grommet is not bonded to the hoses and must be inserted by the installer. He also said that his hose material is made in the US ( by the OEM ), and sent to France for bonding ( ! ) and that the Ford Museum has bought his hose kits ( ! )

I searched for some feedback on Critter Creek Cougar, and I read all the problems that Jcat had with Darren (November 30.2016) so now I’m a little leery.

Looking for the Cougar community to share experiences with this product - other sources, or wait for DeadNutsOn ? Thanks.

I used a set from WCCC for a 70 - worked good.
You could just get the correct size tubing & cut to length, but the color coding is helpful and looks correct

The reason we quit carrying them is the hoses were just too hard and the price got out of reach for most folks. I have been working with Jack and he will not release his product until everyone agrees the quality is much better and the price is substantially less.

Hey Don, any updates on this?

Is there no source for vacuum hose with colored stripes in bulk for those that want to roll their own? I’ve searched high and low and can’t find any.
