1969 xr-7 rare options?

I’m look at buying a 1969 Cougar xr-7 that has interior code 8a for black comfort weave seats, a tilt-pop steering wheel, and am/fm radio. The car needs body work but the interior is near perfect. Thoughts? What’s it worth? Here’s a few pics. Thanks!

Hard to say without seeing the car in person but the options are pretty typical. The color hurts it more than anything but it was popular back then. 351W - 2V and FMX automatic is the most typical option for 1969. Tilt away steering was perhaps 1/3 of all cars in 1969.

How about a low-option 1969 XR 7? Mine originally had power steering, FMX, tinted glass, whitewalls, AM/8-track.
I was surprised that it didn’t have a console, .but that was an option

Typical options other than the AM 8 track stereo. The AM FM stereo was also unusual. A console is something most Cougar buyers expect because the option was so common. I like the ones without better. An FMX / 2V is typical.

I’ve never seen an xr-7 with comfortweave and a tilt away steering wheel. I’m asking because I’m either going to save it or part it out…if I part it out, the interior will land in another car…I’m assuming 2-3k wouldn’t be overpaying just to get a clean interior requiring no work other than clean up?

If the torque boxes, floors, and leaf spring areas have mileage left i would save it. Factory tach. I like that color. Nice shading on the lines. Best cold weather seats. I wonder if they were specified leather delete. Good on gas. Great road trip car. Surely someone someday would care for it. It seems unique to me. Could have speakers in the boot.

I’m with Royce on this one. It’s really hard to make the math work restoring a small block XR7 hardtop (69 anyway). They can make good parts cars since often times they have nice options like that one. A few years ago, the tilt column and radio could’ve been 2K, but the market’s a little bit softer now, or so it seems.
