Looking for some sort of diagram that shows bolt sizes to reassemble my front headlight assembly.
Trying to make sure I’m nut and bolt correct
The best diagram I can find is located in the 1965-72 Lincoln-Mercury Illustrated Parts Manual CD (I don’t have a 1970 Assembly Manual that shows this information):
Section 82 p17 shows the Grille
Section 130 p11 shows the headlights, parking lights, and side marker lights.
Section 131 p3 shows the vacuum routing and parts.
The screws and hardware are called out by Ford part number like, 57472-S,
From there, I use the AMK Products Guide to Ford Fasteners 1955-73
- The index, in the back, has a list of (most of) these part numbers.
- Locate the part number and go to the page indicated.
- The page shows a picture of the screw, nut, etc. style and the length and thread of the part.
- Look through your bag, box, or can of hardware and identify the correct part.
Tedious but effective - especially if you have pictures or another car for comparison.
