I’m looking for a source to find some bumpers for my replacement headlight housing. They are the bumpers in the upper L/R corners. See the attach picture. NPD doesn’t have them and WCCC said they don’t have a solution for that part yet. Mine were so brittle that they snapped in two pieces when I tried to remove them. Thanks
Been searching those for years!
Are there any NOS ones out there, or pictures of them? I figure all the originals out there are probably mashed flat and distorted after 50 years :-/
$35 each with shipping? OUCH!
Looks like I actually paid $10 for 10 on eBay. But I did send the info to Darrell in hopes WCCC might be able to source and sell them.
Huh, I saw them at $2.99 each plus shipping by inputting that part number on Amazon
The L/M parts catalog shows the part to be a 351139-S.
Bumper portion is listed as 1/4" high but the hole diameter and bumper diameter are not specified in the standard parts catalog.
Same as used on a 1969-70 Mustang fold-down seat.
However, the 372260-S listed by the Mustang vendors appears to be too short.
The head does measure 1/4” high and 1/2” diameter with a slight bevel on the face. The shoulder that fits in the hole is 0.2” diameter, and the flange that holds it in measures 3/8” diameter. It fits a 3/16” to 1/4” diameter hole, but is just a bit snug in the headlight bucket hole. It took some silicone grease to get it through. I also installed these in the stop at the bottom of the center grille to eliminate the bang and rattle when headlight doors are closed.
Found these at Marshall’s Industrial Hardware. https://www.marshallshardware.com/products/product.aspx?pid=3746-3748-432-12533 Bought these for my '70.
These are missing the little hole in the center. Figured I would use something to make the hole. Heat up a hot paper clip. Small drill bit…price is right.
Hang in there until this weekend. I’m pretty sure these are regular items in a vendor’s catalog. Will check tomorrow or Sunday.
Take a look at these pics and see if any might be a good match. These are the off-the-shelf bumpers at the local hardware store.
The one with the hole in the center looks good. What is the size?
Yes, if the one with the hole in the top is 1/2” dia, 1/4” tall, and fits a 3/16” hole, I like it better than the Tisco ones I found.
Here’s what I found online for that fastener box

I just looked at my 1970 and the one with the hole in it does not match our cars. None of the other bumpers had a hole in them.
But the one in my pics labeled “IMG_20201024_120738635.jpg” is a close match…
The other company that makes these kinds of bumpers is AuVeCo. You might surf their site for the correct one and post back if you find it.
