1970 cougar mustang ll kits. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade my front suspension on my 1970 cougar. I was looking at the mustang ll setup, does anyone have any suggestion or other options for a rack and pinion upgrade?

Also is the installation pretty simple?

Thanks I’m advance for the help.

They have a couple different setups.

The Mustang II front suspension offers you the ability to remove the shock towers but the geometry and capabilities are lacking and it’s fallen out of favor. Plenty of better options from companies like Street or Track, Open Tracker, or Detroit Speed, Global West, along with others. I’ve installed a complete Street or Track front suspension (tubular control arms, Bilstein coil over shocks, and adjustable strut rods plus the Unisteer R&P steering system) on my 1969. Fantastic upgrade in my opinion. Shaun, the owner of Street or Track has extensive experience with vintage Ford suspension and is great to talk to about your goals and options. I know other feel similarly about John at Open Tracker Racing. I’d recommend you reach out to them and use their experience to help guide your decisions.
