1970 courtesy light globe - where can I get one?

Does anyone know where I can get a globe one of these online? http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/store/p/13459-Courtesy-Light-Assembly-Used-1970-Mercury-Cougar-/-1970-Ford-Mustang.html

I am in Australia, so it needs to be an online purchase.

Thanks.

Also, what do you call a guy with no arms and no legs who rings on your doorbell?

I don’t know either, but his face rings a bell.

Try West Coast Classic Cougar ( http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com ) or John’s Cougars ( https://www.johnsclassiccougars.com ). Hope that’s a help.

Thanks for the tip. Can’t find them on either.

Any other thoughts?

NPD have them listed

not sure if they are the same length as 70

Here’s the spec on teh 561

#561 Miniature Bulb Rigid Loop Base - 12.8 Volt 0.97 Amp 12.416 Watt T-3 12.0 MSCP, C-8 Filament Design, Rigid Loop Base. 1,000 Average Rated Hours, 1.72" (43.7mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.37" Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.)

I used search words “1970 courtesy bulb” and this is what the site shows. What search words did you try? They are located in our bulb section under 1970. I guess we should add search word “globe” to all our light bulb listings.

That would be a great idea, since you have a “Global” company, selling worldwide

So what’s the difference between a 561 (used in 71 - 73) and 562 (used in 70)

561 specfication

#561 Miniature Bulb Rigid Loop Base - 12.8 Volt 0.97 Amp 12.416 Watt T-3 12.0 MSCP, C-8 Filament Design, Rigid Loop Base. 1,000 Average Rated Hours, 1.72" (43.7mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.37" Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.).

562 specification
#562 Miniature Bulb Rigid Loop Base - 13.5 Volt 0.74 Amp 9.99 Watt T-3 6.0 MSCP, C-8 Filament Design, Rigid Loop Base. 2,000 Average Rated Hours, 1.72" (43.70mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.37" (9.5mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.).

Will the higher output of the 561 cook the 1970 housing.

Might be better off with these LED replacements if the heat is an issue

You might try calling them for suggestions. WCCC is on Pacific time (GMT+8) and I think John’s is Eastern (GMT+5), if not then GMT+6 (Central).

The 561 bulb was used in a center of the roof mount of the standards. We have a few in the yard with this light and I believe the housing is metal thus handling the heat of a brighter bulb. The 562 under the dash was in a plastic housing and the heat made them brown and brittle over the years. You might consider an LED light, I have the 212 style in my map light (I know its a different style) and it puts out lots of light, I have seen the 561/2 style LED here in parts stores. If you still can’t find them we do have used ones in stock at WCCC even though they are not listed as an individual bulb just ask for one, tell them Richard sent you!

Thanks everyone. I have ordered some of the LEDs to try them out.

Don,

I can’t remember the exact search term, but I would have used ‘globe’ rather than ‘bulb’. I am pretty sure I used the word ‘courtesy’.

The differences between our versions of English make me laugh. All I can say is, when you come to Australia, I suggest that you don’t offer to pat my wife on the fanny.

And if your name is Randolph, think twice before announcing “Hi, I’m Randy!”

I also suggest that cheerleaders visiting our wide, brown land refrain from saying that they missed most of the game because they were too busy rooting for the team. We find that very confusing.

onya mate

Only the really good ones would be doing this.

Good advice, I will take that to heart when I drop in.
