1970 Modified Cougar

I have owned this car since 1994. It has won a lot of shows including the modified class at the Nationals in Lincolnshire Illinois, I believe in 2000. The car was originally a 351 Cleveland but now has a modified 428 Cobra Jet with an aluminum intake and a Lemans 4V carb. It also has an MSD distributor, MSD 6 AL ignition, Hooker ceramic coated headers, modified C6 with Art Carr reverse valve body and I believe a 3500 stall converter. I have a lot more pictures of the interior and undercarriage that I can send to anybody interested. It is an original Oklahoma car that was originally red with a red and black houndstooth interior.
I am asking $16,000 or a reasonable intelligent offer

That seems like an amazing deal. Too bad I am overstocked!

I was at the show in Illinois that year. I remember when your wife drove it away from the trailer right after you two got there. As I recall she left a bunch of rubber in the parking lot. LOL, good times.

Any chance you have a picture of the red and black houndstooth interior. I have heard of this but never could document that it existed.

Bill,
When we redid the interior and replaced it with standard, we did not realize how important it would turn out to be to have kept a piece of the old red/black houndstooth. After all, it was 20 years ago and many times since I wish I had done so.

Frank I understand completely. Who knew? In the car audio business we pulled thousands of factory AM, AM FM and AM 8 tracks out of cars and then, because they were worth nothing back then, used them in car radio toss contests. I could have retired 10 times over just selling those radios if I still had them.

Good luck on the sale Frank.

I did some google digging and found at least an example of red and black houndstooth on a bronco site.

Kinda cool. Sorry for the hi-jack and hope it sells for you soon Frank!!!

Chris

Great car Frank. Good luck with the sale.
