Anybody know this car?

Don Rush had it for a short period of time and sold it.

Was on ebay a few months ago and did not sell. There was a thread on it here or at MCN. Mike

Talked about here, and a few other places on MC.net.

Always liked that car, when Don sprayed rattle can flat black he probably dropped the value in half. There are a few buyers that “get it”. But mostly it just reeks of ricer bolt on spray primered junk. An honest, unmolested, barn find will always bring more money than a car that looks like it was “fixed up” by a couple of 14 years with 3 cans of spray paint.

I took that car for a spirited drive when Don had it and it was a very nice driver. All it needed was a cosmetic restoration and it would be a great car.

I don’t think it was Don that painted it. IIRC, it was the original owners son that painted it flat black. Don mentioned that the flat black might be able to be buffed off to reveal the original paint.

That poor car has been kicked around from coast to coast for what, 2 years now? It is just a bit too “vanilla” to be snatched up and restored, but as a CJ car it is too valuable to be fiddled with too much. Most likely destined to become a CJ donor car :frowning:

I like the car. Don’t have the funds to put out for it but I hope it finds a good home. I would hate to see it become a donor car. If a future owner does something like that, they should have their picture posted in the hall of shame.
