1971-1973 replacement a/c unit for a/c car

The door grab bars came from a motor home. The rest are '67-'76 parts.

The door panels are 1971-1973 standard Cougar style. The door courtesy lights are either 1967-1968 or 1969-1970 style. The outside mirror on the left door appears to be something like a JC Whitney product.

Randy, my friend! Your insight serves you well…the door armrests and backing plates are from a '76 Cougar xr7. A little masking tape and SEM dye are a madman’s best friend. The dash is original xr7, once again, a victim of the SEM rattle can. If you blow up the picture, you will notice a portion of a Diet Dr. Pepper can riveted to hold together the nasty break in the top center of the plastic frame (any old port in a storm). The exterior of the alleycat is just as big a hoot. The rear bumper I bought from you holds '73 lenses framed by a butchered set of '72 lens bezels. Behind the license plate is a reproduction Challenger pop open gas cap. Has a much better seal than Mustang’s. Now you know what kind of bizarre mindset I have. By the way, you wouldn’t happen to have a 28 spline posi and 3:50 ring and pinion, would you?

I missed the Dr Pepper can. I do not have the ring and pinion that you are looking for.

Randy: I don’t know if you’ve seen this, but this is what alley cat looked like the day I bought it. Don Rush told me to run from it. I perceived it more as a challenge. Yes, that’s a hardtop rear clip. It is a genuine droptop. I have the Marti, gate ticket, mco, and lots of other docs. Yes, sir, this is a pedigreed junk yard animal.

Yes, I do remember you posting that photo in the past.

Is that the Batmobile steering wheel?

Apparently, the chap that was responsible for leaving it in the field, cut the original rim-blow and added a set of tricycle handlebar grips to it. When the intelligent gentleman realized the horn didn’t work properly, he affixed a plastic horn button to make up for it. The rear clip was put on at the dealership to repair a rear-ender that was never reported. The upholstery (including the door and quarter panels) was assigned to a shop that went belly-up, taking the stuff with them. So, I had a clean slate to begin with.
