The original owner has passed and his wife wants to place this car in the hands of someone that will love it like he did. 100% original, rust free, garage kept, always used as a second car, never a daily driver, recently brought here from Arizona. It has had one quality repaint, the carb and intake have been properly upgraded to an edelbrock 4V and it drives great. Without much work this car is easily worth $9000 - $11,000. I am offering it at $5900 (here only) for a short time and if it does not sell, we will put our magic to it and put it on BaT for $1 no reserve. 503-453-1130
Looks 100 times better!
My first Cougar was almost a '73, and then it was almost a '70 until I picked up the '68.
I guess a Cougar was always meant to be in my life.
and it will again one day.
I like it! This is a great deal for someone out there…
I am kind of surprised it has not sold yet. If it does not sell soon I will buy it.
Neither can I. I’ve almost impulsed bought it at least once every day since you posted it (love the new wheels) and I will feel like I missed a really good deal when it does sell. If it wasn’t a 40 hour trip each way and a low Canadian dollar I would have bought it already.
How do you like his tricky valve that converts it from single to dual exhaust with a button on the dash?
I was wondering what that was…
I’d buy a first gen beforehand but that is a solid #2.
Man that would make a good driver for someone and pretty dang cheap. I bet its in better shape then most $6000 modern cars you find on CL today.
that 73 front really screams Pimp-mobile to me Great looking car otherwise!!
Wait until you see it with the wire baskets in place…
SOLD! Really surprised it took that long. Not sure the guy who bought it even realizes what a deal he got.
I was almost in on it but this time I asked the wife first… apparently we don’t need another car we don’t have garage space for. What kind of logic is that? When will you ever again see a “one owner” Arizona convertible? Not around here.
Note to self: Next time ask for forgiveness instead of permission…

Fortunately I was making snap decisions on car purchases long before my wife came into the picture and she knows I can never be reformed. She did hit a wall though 1 year ago. She walked in after driving my 20 year olds sons salvage title Honda Accord and made an announcement. “My son is driving an old car he pasted together in the driveway and I like it better than what I currently have. I have my own money that you do not know about, I am going to the dealership now, you can come with or stay home.” There is a time in every mans life where you know to just say “Yes Honey”.
That’s what I did…
I did too with my G that’s currently the ROTM so I figured I better not do it again…it has been a decade and a half though so maybe next time…
True Dat. These days she knows she won’t stop me from getting another Cougar so it’s OK as long as finances allow.
