Hummana, hummana, hummana…

Drool…

Stupid V6 Power.

It looks like it was designed to go racing in the 2016 endurance championship GT class, which is V6 turbo power

… and it was designed by an Australian, just like the Chevy Bolt and Buick Avenir concept that reviewers are raving about at NAIAS.

And Ford and GM are closing down local Australian operations next yea

The Ford GT is a good looking car. 600HP is not bad at all even if it’s a V6. The horsepower wars are awesome in todays cars with the 2016 CTS-V at 640 hp (4dr sedan), Dodge Hell Cat Charger is in at 707 HP (4dr Sedan) and the 662hp 2016 GT500 Mustang.

All designed to test Darwins finest theory… :buck:

Funny!

Makes me want to embrace the 2005 Ford GT version even more. Not liking it, don’t care for the computer dash or the Lambo doors. Guess I’m old school. The cockpit looks like one of those car racing video games.

I wasn’t expecting such a radical redesign. I’m impressed. I think it’s stunning. And most new car designs leave me kinda ambivalent. It still has the overall shape and personality of the GT-40, while still being completely new and contemporary, even risky. The “flying buttresses” for lack of a better term, are a bold design statement that give the car’s profile the right shape, while also probably serving a pretty significant aerodynamic purpose. And then you notice how the bulk of the body / passenger compartment is actually teardrop-shaped from above. Anyways, I like it a lot, and can’t wait to see some road test videos. Also, 600 hp out of a 3.5L V6? Holy crap! Impressive, and I think it’s another bold forward-looking move by Ford to go that direction instead of a V8. I get that it’s upsetting for purists, but this is something entirely new that can compete with the European supercars. I think America needs this.

Yeah, it’s a little Lambo-ey. And maybe my opinion would change if I saw it in person. But my initial impression is good.

P.S. - If you have any doubts about whether a 6-banger can sound good, look up some videos of the Jaguar F-type.

Even with the mid engine I’ll bet it’s not worth a darn in the snow.
For that reason, I’m out.

Me too, any super car of mine needs to handle well in the snow :roll eyes: (LOL!!).

Post of the week! That is some seriously funny stuff!

I’m sure Michelin would make you a really nice set of snow tyres for it

Or a set of chains.

What is the price tag on that car?

I think it would look great with a set of gold tire chains, as an option for us east coast boys.

I imagine it will land in the $250K segment, but any dealer who gets one will add $50K to the sticker I bet…

I love the car, but would always feel short changed with a V-6 at that price, even though it has plenty of juice.

For $250K you should get stupid Darwin fast (and furious?) :buck:

Looks a hell of a lot sexier than the new Mustangs. Photos don’t seem to show the weird look from the rear that design has, the way they have sloped the back looks kind of odd in person.

No put on a set of Nokian snow tires worlds fastest snow tires 208 MPH just outside the Artic Circle on an Audi (video on there web site.) Now put in a 1,000 hp V8 and really kick butt. Have a 2.0 eco boost does run like a 6 but the fuel milaege is way off what Ford states. On the highway my 5.0 and 4.6 Tbirds and Gran Marquis kill it.

If only I were rich… Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to stick with my Cougars!

Fun fact I just learned: the air that enters the vents in front of the rear wheels flows over the intercoolers, and then exits through the centers of the taillights. How cool is that?

If there’s any kind of venturi effect in that exit, probably VERY cool…
