EARLY January 1 - Tour d’Orange. A 70-80 mile romp through the scenic byways of Orange County.
We’ll join about 400 cars to kick off 2019 in Cougar style. Details aren’t posted until Dec.31, but make your plans now
and watch this thread.
If your Cougar doesn’t run, bring something else that’s cool.
Second event:
As part of the 50th anniversary of the BOSS Mustangs I am informally arranging a get-together the day before
the FFF show. I’d love to have my Cougar brothers and sisters along for the fun. It’ll be a bit of a schlep from
Anaheim, but I’d like to gather at “Early Rodders,” a weekly Saturday morning hang in La Canada/Montrose.
Then a drive up Angeles Crest Highway (an engineering marvel from the 30’s and one of the great drives)
for brunch at Newcomb’s Ranch, a good road-food eatery frequented by many 2-wheeler types. A leisurely trip
down the hill and across the LA basin will have us back to Anaheim for evening festivities at the host hotel.
2019 Tour d’ Orange is back at Redhill & Fischer Ave. in Costa Mesa.
Car staging begins at 6:30 a.m.
The Band begins at 7:00 a.m.
Map distribution at 8:45 a.m.
Start Tour at 9:00 a.m.
See you there!
Hey - That was fun!!! Nice hanging with you!
For 2019/50th, I think we averaged 4 '69 Cougars! There were 2 actual 69s, plus a 70 and a 68!
L-R: Ted, Gary, Mike, Zoli.
Thanks to Mike Brown and his Band of Renowned for putting on another great show yesterday.
Great to see lots of Cougar folk, Cougars and some Shelbys for our farewell to Larry Quay.
We had 6 GT-Es and an original-owner 289 Cobra with its original owner!
I shot mostly film yesterday, but here is one severely downsized digital pic from the gathering.
