351W alum intake gaskets?

Trying to find a correct set of intake gaskets that fit & block the coolant passages front & rear.
of a Edlebrock performer intake & stock cast iron heads I keep having leaks. Felpro (blue) has thin channels in the gasket that allows a leak, as do the #1250 Felpro gaskets. Anybody know what ones work?

what year is the block? has the intake been cut?

Add some gasket glue.

1969 Windsor. Stock alum Edlebrock intake. Pic shows the mismatch. Allowing anti into hole in head where there is no bolt thru manifold. No glue is gonna fix this.

I will try to take a look at my gasket collection

OK. Most SBF heads or aftermarket heads use a normal shaped rear water port(common to 302). 351 W heads have dog leg/ L shaped rear water ports(this probably changed through the years)
So, does the bolt hole in the head go through a water passage? Doesnt matter because it’s in the water passage area. If it bothers you, plug the threaded hole. It is only for OE intakes, which usually had the water passage blocked off.
use moe glue on the water passage, make some studs to hold the gasket while you put the manifold down so the gasket doesn’t move, I let the glue set up for 10 min before applying pressure.

Went through this when I put #2181 Edelbrock Performer on ‘69 351W. In the installation notes from Edelbrock it calls for a different gasket set for early 16 bolt heads. It was years ago so I don’t have part number handy. I got the early gaskets and problem solved. It was a different part number than what the average parts store showed for a 351W.

Yes, been looking for them for a while. Just hoping someone had a # of them. Ill just clean up what I have trim & reseal. Testing & hope for good results. Thanks for the help!

Try FEL-MS90116. Should fit 69 to 71 351W per Summit and they have it in stock. Tried sending this earlier but didn’t go Sunday.

If you look at each end you will see the “L” shaped canals. They wont work. I did trim the ones pictured, and have yet to pressure test. I’ll post the results shortly.
Thanks for looking !

Are you using the Edelbrock 7220 gasket set? Summit Racing - Gasket Set

I’m getting ready to install an Edelbrock 2181 intake on my otherwise stock 69 351w, so I’m very curious if your set worked.

I found this image on a Mustang site and have no idea what the squiggly line is for, except perhaps for a bit of relief, but otherwise my 7220 set looks to be correct.

Also, what throttle cable bracket are you using? Since I’m upgrading from 2v to 4v, my old one is now spare parts.

I used the gasket set Felpro #1250. Closest I can find. I trimmed the port s & used alot of silicone. Dont waste time looking at that Mustang suggestion… the one stated as working does not. They failed to show how it fits the intake! That “channel” is a canal!

I’ve used the original style of bracket for 4bbl ( Boss 302, 428, 351 4v) The cable & carb (Edlebrock) dont quite align.

My Edelbrock 7220 set looks to be similar to the Felpro set you used so I’ll trim and add some sealer to the back end without the water passage. I’ve had leak issues with an Autolite 4300, and Holley style carbs with gaskets between the body and bowls, so I am going to give a Summit carb that looks like a 4100 a try. The stock throttle brackets won’t work, but I am modifying a 4v bracket like this fellow did.

Pulled the manifold today and found exactly what you’ve been discussing.
