That Merc ‘screams’ Land Yacht ! But there weren’t many ( along with the Lincolns ) that could rival this, not even the Cadillac’s for quiet smooth cruising on the highway. I had a 1971 Lincoln Mark III ( @ 17.5 feet in length ! ) and it was a real pleasure to get it out on the highway - the 460 was a ‘gas hog’ but it still had lots of pep, even at 70 - 80 mph. But I’m sure that by 1973 the venerable 460 was badly de-tuned and probably had lost a lot of its ‘grunt’, to become more of a ‘wheeze’. Sigh.
Since the 1973 Cougar had an optional sunroof, I would be surprised if it were not also available on this model as well ?
