45 years ago today I drove out of the Lincoln Mercury Dealership with my first new car. As it turns out, it would be the only new car I ever purchased. If I need to be reminded how great that car looks, all I have to do is take a walk to the garage and there it is in all it’s glory.
Andrew did two amazing shots for the calendar this year using my Green Eliminator, next time you order remind usyou deserve a free copy.
Wow!! Wish I had a picture like that when I did the same thing in Aug.1, '69!!
Would of liked a picture of you when you first laid eyes on it after all those years…
I can do 39 years ago! My 67 I bought for $800.00 with only 42k miles in 1975 when I was 16. My first car of course.
Oh to have the money back then… When I was 15 I could have bought a 64 T-Bird for $1,500, 67 Camaro for $1,500 or a 57 Bel Aire only $1,800. Later on, when I was in the AIr Force, I could have bought a 71 Challenger for only a grand.
Yeah,
That picture of the green eliminator new is great!
that is a great story, thanks for sharing! I wish my 1st cougar had been a real cougar Eliminator, but alas it was a 1967 standard that had already lost 8 of it’s 9 lives. Fortunately it was still fixable, and after significant repairs it served me well for about 6 years while I was in school. The photo is Day #1 before restoration work started. I can’t believe I was so proud of that wreck! LOL
Photo after restoration. It’s OK to laugh at the Trans Am bird on the hood, i thought it looked way cool back then! It only lasted about 1 year on the hood before I came to my senses and had it removed…
Wow, a picture says a thousand words. Key in hand ready to go! Who was with you to take that picture?
My soon to be wife.
Vintage photos of my first Cougar, which I picked out for my late father nearly 57 years ago, and later purchased from him after obtaining my driver’s license.
