That is a stunning car!!!

I showed this to several people at work today…we all poked jabs at who should be the proud new owner. Beautiful car it is, but noone would admit they wanted it!

I’m sorry, but that car is stunning. The colors are sublime, and with a/c? wow!

If I had the spare coin it would be filling the empty stall in my garage !

I like this Mercury, colors and all. It would be a real interesting car at the Saturday cruse in for sure.

Hmmm, I don’t see A/C on this 58. My 58 Parklane has underdash A/C. I am not sure if it were dealer installed or if that was some factory version. I’ve seen 57’s with factory in dash A/C. But, never a 58.

I wonder why they didn’t put the stickers on the valve covers----they are available.

On my 58 Monterey, the body color wraps down past the hood latch. It’s hard to tell if they painted that area a low gloss black or if it is the smoke color of the body paint. One of the weird things is the hood bumpers on my 58 Monterey are painted body color. It’s possible that it isn’t original, but, I bought the car with a real 22,000 miles on it. I doubt it was ever painted. Everything appears original and untouched.

I love 58 Mercs. I’m glad to see someone bring this 58 wagon to such an excellent level. Restoring a car to this degree just about guarantees it’s permanence from a long gone era.

OK, granted it’s a cool looking car, but, am I the ONLY one that thinks those photos look photo-chopped??? Sumpin’ ain’t right on those pics.

Interesting. Now that you mention it, one of the pics doesn’t really make sense. The shot of the rear and passenger side. The front tire is casting a super long shadow under the car that suggests the sun is just above the horizon so coming essentially from the side not top. But then the rear tire isn’t casting a similarly long shadow, and the rear left corner is casting two shadows, one much weaker than the other, which seems reasonable if there were the setting sun and also a second light source like a single HID light at a baseball diamond or something, BUT, the shadow in that rear left corner is super super close to the car, as if the sun was directly overhead.

That pic looks really wrong, shadow-wise.

But in general it seems like it’s just a really stunning restoration and very well photographed.

Interesting!!
