My base model parts car had these odd coil springs on yhe rear shocks. Anyone have experience with these? I know, they look gimmicky/hokey but they’re unique enough that I’ve kept them around….Thx.
“Helper Springs”…cheap bandaid to “fix” a sagging rear. I doubt if the shock supports are designed for the load.
Replacing the leaf springs is the correct way…in my opinion.
They used to sell those at Sears and Montgomery Wards. They often caused the floor pan to crack because the shock absorber mounts were not designed to carry the weight of the car. I would throw those in the trash where they belong.
