I just purchased a very clean, bone stock 68 Base from friend. The car has lived inside it’s entire life, and is wearing Diamond Blue that was sprayed on the car in 1991. It’s was fair bodywork for the day, and for what the cars were worth back then. It has horrible vinyl pinstripes, and since I have to do some minor bodywork, the stripes make a good blend point. I have searched extensively for the graphics that are on this are on the blue car, does anyone know who did these? I personally don’t care for stripes, but I’ll take these over pin stripes any day.
That is what I am after. We can paint if need be. How far off the accent line is it?
I love it. Talked to the painter today and he said no problem. It looks like 1/4" between the stripes, and the bottom stripe is pretty much the same thickness the entire length except for a little taper up front.
Here are a couple more detail shots showing the taper in the middle, and how they finished the ends. I could do without the vertical portion of the stripe, but it’s ok.
Thanks, I agree, I’m going to keep it straight. I think it’s a great solution to my problem.
