When inserting the key into the door lock on the driver side of my 67 Cougar, the key just spins. If removed, is this repairable? Or, should I buy a repro and deal with multiple keys?

Sounds like the tab for the lock rod fell off.

If you do buy a reproduction lock, you can take it and your key to a good lock smith, and he can reprogram the new lock to match your old key.
I agree with Cougar CJ. It sounds like something is not connected. The only way you are going to know what the problem is would be to remove the door panel and get your eyes on the backside of the lock. I doubt that the lock cylinder is bad but even if it is you would have to remove the door panel to replace it so you might as well start there before you spend any money on parts.

Thank you! That was it.
Just a note to anyone possibly trying it for the first time. The connection uses a 1/4" E clip. Patience is needed when getting it on!
