67 Drip Rail Seam Sealer

I am removing the remnants of a vinyl roof on a 67 hardtop. The drip rail gutters are in great condition with a small amount of rust at the roof seam. Some of the glue is a little difficult to remove.

I have looked through the Assembly Manuals and cannot find a detail for the drip rail to roof seam. Is seam sealer applied in this area? How much and how should it be applied?

Thanks for any help.

The drip rail sealer is different from other panel sealers… they take a specific sealer like Evercoat Maxim 824? or 3M 8307. The 3M stuff is self leveling two part epoxy sealer and requires a mixing/application gun…not sure about the Evercoat product. Usually the thickness in application will be between 3/16" & 3/8" depending on the contours filled.

If the ss strip for the top is deleted, has anyone had any luck closing the rivet holes? Weld from the bottom and grind smooth?
