67 Fender Flares aftermarket??

I want to add fender flares to my 67 XR7. I can’t seem to find any that say they are compatible with a cougar. Has anyone done this or seen it done with out fabricating them?

No aftermarket flares available that I know of. If you find some let me know. I flared the arches by cutting down the lip on the inside. Then sliced the arch in pie shape cuts and bent them out. Then welded the cuts together. Most of them turned out good except for the p-side rear is choppy.

Brian I never noticed your fender flare modification. Well done in a way not to take away from the Cougar lines.

Oh, Hero, paging Local Hero…I believe you may be the flare person Lyric is looking for…

:headshake: Read the original poster’s question. “Has anyone done this or seen it done with out fabricating them?”

He’s looking for something aftermarket… not fabricated. :stuck_out_tongue:

Details, details…

DOH.

Mea culpa…

You guys are to funny! I’d like aftermarket but if someone knows a metal fabricator in massachusets area Id look at that option.

Well… this is a real shot in the dark but…

…way back in the day, and I’m talking 1981 when Dad and I first tore into my car for the first build, we purchased the infamous front air dam out of a JC Whitney catalog. At the same time, we also purchased a pair of rear fiberglass fender flares. Surprisingly, they fit a whole lot better than the front air dam did. They fit the contour of the quarter panels as well as the fender lip very nicely. But they just didn’t fit the look we wanted and Dad decided to just make his own which are still on the car.

We eventually gave the 'glass ones away to some guy who also wanted all the restoration parts we originally bought NOS and never used.

I seriously doubt they’re still available. But you might get lucky.

I just looked on JC no dice. Now I need a time machine! Thanks for sharing if they are out there I will find them.
