I am in search of a very nice condition driver. Must be a 3 pedal car, not interested in automatics. Looking to spend $20,000 or less. Let me know what you have.
This looks like it has your name on it:

Saw that one, not sure its exactly what I am looking for. Thanks tho.
Seriously, it’s an original Southern California car with its original exhaust system intact. You are not going to find a better one anyplace at any price. The seller is being very honest, but as the buyer you need to realize when the car is freaking awesome and the price is right that the time to buy is at hand.
I don’t see anywhere in your post a requirement that the car be available within X miles of anyplace - maybe that is something that you need to add? You do realize that what you are asking for is incredibly hard to find anywhere right?
Royce, just for you I will email the guy and ask him about his car!
I am looking for a car, if it is not exactly what I want I am not going to buy it. Just because you would buy it doesn’t mean I will.
Where are you located? How far will you travel for the car?
R Code- I will get the right car shipped! I would rather look at it myself but can hire someone. If the car is right.
Your right about buying what your going to be happy with, I think the point royce is trying to make is dont pass up on something like that car too fast for a couple negatives. He is right with what your searching for is going to be a pretty hard find.
I think that car would be a great driver as it sits. Its a nicely optioned 4speed car. You wouldn’t have to worry about door dings or driving it in the weather etc. Drive the wheels off it and have fun but thats just my opinion
DieselD- I have been searching for less than a week and have found 3 or 4 that would “work” but not what I “want”. I am in no rush to buy, I will wait for the right car. Maybe this one is the “one”, I will see. Royce seemed to be acting like a car salesman and my daily driver just shit the bed on the way to the dealer. Its like this car is a unicorn and I will never see another one.
I guess I have to ask, exactly what is it you’re looking for? Royce might be a little enthusiastic about that car, but I’m having a hard time seeing why someone specifically looking for one would pass it up.
As the ad states I am looking for a 1967 or 1968 Cougar with a factory 3 speed or 4 speed. I am not set on any particular color. The more original and low mileage the better. Something restored needing no work is ideal obviously.
About the car Royce suggested- I personally do not like that particular car. Green is the least appealing color on a car in my opinion, and the saddle interior is OK. Reminds me of a British roadster.
You’ll get the best leads if you are more specific in your request. If green and saddle isn’t your thing, say that. List the colors, engines and options you must have or won’t consider and we can be much more helpful. Generic requests are hard to fulfill.
I stopped caring right around post #s 7-9.
Maybe you want an XR7 not a standard? For me that would be the case…
428- it doesn’t matter if it’s a standard or xr7. It’s hard enough to find any 3 pedal car in good condition.
I assume the OP has searched consignment and auction sites? Wanting a car with little to no work to be done… sounds like you want concourse level. Ebay and CL, and likely even here are not the hunting grounds you want.

Johnque- I have been searching all sites. As I stated, I am not looking for a show car (concourse) but a put together driver. Every car that is 20+ years old always needs tinkering, I am more concerned with not needing body work and paint, good interior and a strong running engine. That should be a level 2 or high level 3 car. I have seen a couple but all automatic, finding a vintage car that you want is a waiting game.
Find a nice automatic car, add $3K and you’ll have a great driver with a 5-speed.
