I ordered a new trunk filler panel for my 67 cougar from west coast classic cougar however the panel leaves a 1 inch gap inbetween the surface of the panel and the trunk. I’ve had a lot of back and forth of what could be the cause, when looking at original diagrams of the panel the total length of it says it should be 8.75 inches but I received a panel that’s 8 inches in length. But when I contact wccc about it they say that the panel is the correct length and it has something to do with my car. The surface of the panel measures out to 3 3/4 inches where the panel and fender panel meet and 3 1/2 inches in the middle where the original panel was approximately 4.5 inches where it met with the fender panel and 4 - 4 1/4 inches in length and want to know if I am going to need to fabricate a new panel to try and fix my special car or if wccc just sent me a faulty part and is claiming it’s correct.

I replaced mine last year with no real difference dimension-wise, and the filler was also from WCCC , please post more pictures of yours so it will be easier for me or others to help you.
