Looking for a 67. Prefer an XR7, AC and Auto. Might look at later models (68 or 70). Prefer black or perhaps red interior. Would like to find something in the DFW area. I’ve done North America buy’s before, and usually the online who benefitted was American Airlines. I really prefer decent/drivable condition. It does not have to be flawless, but I don’t really want a project either (too old and too OCD for yet another beating!). Please message me if you have something that falls in this category. Thank you- Tom
Thank you Royce- I have! I’ve also been a member of the SCAT/Shelby Club of Texas for many years now. Noticed the local club section on classifieds seems broken, no ad’s listed and no way to place an ad… So, I sent them a note! If I recall, David Barnett tagged you in a FB post where I was looking for a local car. I’ve known the Barnett’s since the mid 70’s… Did a deal with Craig on my 69 428CJ Mustang in 76/77.
BUMP- Still looking. Nothing has caught my eye yet; or it’s too beaten-down, been “teen-agered” or asking price is just ridiculous. May go a different direction… Let me know if you have either a replica Gurney/Bud Moore Engineering replica, or something not too far off. Thank you, Tom
Prices are not consistent on Cougars, I-noticed this when i was looking. Finally bought a solid beater and making it into what I want. Lots of work but should be fun when completed.
Im in south Dallas area
Sorry I missed this one - I have known the Barnetts since we were all kids, our fathers used to be friends. Used to ride motorcycles with Craig. His older brother Richard had a very cool '63 Falcon Sprint with a 260 / 4 speed.
Hi Royce- No issue… I haven’t been on this board in quite a while… I am still looking, and just continue to be frustrated… You would think a decent 67’ would not be impossible to find… I have known all the Barnett’s since like 1974. Grew up in Wedgwood, went to SHS. Assume you hung out at the Sigmor Shamrock/Diamond Shamrock where Craig & Richard worked? Does that Mustang you bought have evidence of a broken driveshaft/dented tunnel? Was it originally silver jade, then Craig painted it Silver? AC, Automatic"? Tilt-away? Singletrac rear? If so, that was actually mine. Would love to see pic’s… Yea, Richard & Craig both bought Falcon’s in the last decade or so. Haven’t seen Richard’s new one yet.
I’d reach out specifically to the LSCC president Gene Mullenberg. He’s very plugged into the local DFW market and is often able to connect buyers and sellers.
BUMP… Aperture is going broader… Prefer 67, near DFW TX area… Clean, no rust, no hit body. Don’t care if it runs or not. Don’t care what motor it came with (FE does not add any value to me, BTDT). Don’t care if it has AC, or if it is stick or Auto. Will look at everything from trailer queen to real serious project. Been 3+ years now, I have searched every club, every supplier, every listing tool, every region of the US. No stone has been left un-turned. It’s all either rusted out junk that people want 10-20K for, it’s been teen-aged all to hell, or super nice for what I really want to do…
There’s a '67 that you can see from the road sitting in the lot of Westwood Restorations in Southlake, TX (furniture restorations, not cars).
It’s going to need some work but the rust appears to be mostly surface patina. Owner has had it sitting there for 15 years at least (it was covered for a lot of that time but isn’t now). It’s the age old “I’m going to restore it someday” tale but you might sway him with a cash offer.
PS: It may be a '68 - I’ll verify later today since I drive by it frequently.
Todd, thank you… I live in Southlake from 1997 to 2018… Don’t think I ever saw it… I did Brumlow daily for many years! I and about 5 miles not and 5 miles west of TMS now, but still do shopping, etc., in Southlake. I’ll try to run by later this week.
