'68/'67 Grill needed

I prefer '68 simply because of their slightly better engineering.

I took my grill apart today to start with the conversion to the probe motors and discovered what was once a small crack at one of the mounting points has become a missing mounting point as it has now snapped completely off. Being pot-metal I don’t know of any way to repair it. Do you?

What I’m looking for is something in really good shape, no cracks or breaks, good chrome, etc. Something I can easily restore with a little elbow grease and paint. After all I do have to attempt to keep up with that very inspiring ROTM for this month of March 2012.

If I can only locate one side it needs to be the left side, drivers side as that is the one that is in the worst shape.

I would lovethe restored sets at WCCC but let’s just say that 5k is well out of my range.

PM sent.

Thought some might find this interesting. Top view of '67/'68 grills below.

That is the '67 grill on the left and the '68 grill on the right. You can see how the '68 has that extra beefy end on it because in '67 they discovered the end of the grill was not strong enough and would crack and break. You’ll also notice that in this case the '67 grill looks fine (although there is a small crack not seen in the photo) and on the '68 the top mounting ear is completely snapped off. Oh, well…

Somebody needs to come up with a nifty fix for those snapped off ears, a la the spring mount fix. I’ve one that’s AWOL, as well.
