68 Cougar at Auction April 17, Towson, Maryland

Classic Cougar coming up for Auction. April 17. Alex Cooper Auctions in Towson, Maryland. Lot # 996. YOU do the research. Not mine, just letting you be aware. And no, I will not add anything further as it is now up to you.

It has a 67 steering column. VIN is 68. Plus is its a 4 speed, but looks like a 302.

This is an Auction. 4500 is the STARTING price. Just want to be clear in that! Over April 17.

It looks like an FE engine to me. The front seats, door panels, armrests, window cranks and door release handles are all 1967 parts. There is nothing in the ad to prove that it is a factory 4 speed car.

Weird. The VIN says it is a 302-2V. The 33% buyers premium is scary.

Condition report sounds like a non runner. Agree with Royce that “buyers premium” terms at 33 to 26 percent are eye openers.

Agree 33% is outrageous

Will never pay 1/3 to an auction house :face_without_mouth:

As for the Buyers Penalty, oops Premium, Guess it would depend on the SELL price. 1/3 of $4500? Would make final value at $6000. Excellent value at that. 1/3 of 12K? Not so much a value!

How much to buy a runner with decent interior

According to the data plate the trans code is a W

That is for a C4 transmission, this is not a factory for a speed car, somebody just threw a four speed in it

Along with ( as Randy has stated ) the big-block engine.

Where did you see the door data plate?

Last picture

The last photo that I see on the listing is of the gas door pulled down to show the gas cap.

I don’t know what to say. The last picture has the data plate on it.

It was on the auction house website

Looking at the pics on the LiveAuctioneers website, I see what Randy sees. Wonder if they pulled the door data plate pic for some reason?

I took a picture of it not sure if I can post it

Yeah, I just saw that. The last picture that had the data plate has been removed, in my humble opinion that’s kind of shady.

If the auction house removed that picture that would be pretty shady in my opinion

Shady for sure. If they did remove the data plate photo they are only hurting themselves as no one is going to bid on this car without knowing what they are bidding on. Especially at the $4500 opening bid plus the 33%.
