68 cougar newbie need a little help please

I bought a 68 cougar in Arizona
I need to fix a couple things

there are a group of wires coming down from the steering column into a plug
there are also 2 wires coming down from the steering column that are not connected
1 brown or grayish brown with a prong or clip on the end
1 yellow with black strip also with prong on the end
we don’t see where these plug in or to what they operate

some one had cut the wires on the backside of the igintion switch
My husband wired those back together but he dosen’t know where these 2 wires go

If you could also recommend a good manual or book to help me with future problems

Thank you
Connie

Your turn signal switch was replaced once. The newer versions also fit Thunderbirds. The Cougar does not use those two wires. Just cover the ends and hide them somewhere.

Thank you so much ; John
That is a relief

you have an impressive line of cars
Thanks again
Connie

Connie first let me say welcome to the Classic Cougar Community. It’s great to have another new member. You can find a lot of information on this site. Many good and knowledgeable people here. I also listed a link to West Coast Classic Cougars the have a shop manual that should help with you 1968 Cougar.
