68 dual exhaust hanger?

So, I picked this up on eBay the other day. It was labeled as an NOS '71 Mustang exhaust hanger and was priced at only $56. https://www.ebay.com/itm/124253809908

Based on the photos, I was pretty sure it was misidentified and is a '68 Cougar dual exhaust driver’s side hanger, so I snapped it up. Seemed worthwhile at that price.

It arrived today and I took a couple pictures and measurements. I am definitely not an expert and I would appreciate confirmation from you experts whether this is the correct hanger for the driver’s side on my '68 S code. The hole spacing for the muffler is 5" exactly.

I think you did well.

On many of these hangers the only difference is the length of the rubber.

How long should the rubber be on a Cougar hanger?

It is hard to say exactly as the MPC does not specify and every used one is stretched! What you have looks perfect and is among the hardest to find on any Mustang or Cougar. Good Catch!

Thank you both for your expert input. Much appreciated as always.

Nice find! That hanger matches the one I have on the LH side for my 1968 XR7 GT with the Z stamp. Mine is the original so I think the rubber strap is or was approximately 2 inches. The other side (RH) is much more common and I think has a W stamped on it.

Thanks!
