Looking from some expertise on paint codes / sources / pics.

Power steering pump paint color?

Sources for paint to repaint grill? Argent Silver / Black? Pictures of a restored grill would be great.

I have winter to restore them.

Following - a shop repainted a door hinge and the quick look I’ve been able to make (before Harvey disrupted things) was that it was a pretty good match (grecian gold). I will ask the shop who they used.

thanks. The color looks very similar to this.
PS pump Paint.jpg

If your pump tag code is “F” then NPD for the “teal” color
If your pump tag code is “W” then it would be black.

The teal that I have seen from the mustang places is not the correct color in my opinion. It is to light and to thin. It is caled Accumatch Products. I have a full can of it free you pay shipping. I went to the paint store and had them match my pump color to get it correct.

Thanks for the offer. I ordered a can from NPD and it arrives tomorrow. If it does not look good, I will take you up on the offer.

cheers…

Anyone have sources for correct Argent Silver? Is the black a satin black? I know somewhere on here there is a member that just restored his.

Charlie

I have bought ‘Argent Silver’ spray paint from Ford. Its been a few years so don’t know if they still sell it. It was the right match for 67 Mustang styled steel wheels and the front grill pieces.

PPG code for 1968 accent silver is 32520.

CENTARI 4865A '68 FORD CODE = “L”

PPG- DBU 323520-’67 Sheffield Silver ← I think there is an add’l ‘3’ in this particular number.

Thank you all for the input. Going to give the Motocraft argent silver a paint.

Follow up question.

What color are the shock tower caps painted? I see many in black and a few in a dark gray. What would be the correct concourse color?

Concourse correct is phosphate & oil.

Thanks Brian. It was actually pictures of your G car that got me questioning the black finish on them today. The phosphate is manganese, correct?

Since your asking about 68 it depends on where the car was built.

Dearborn = phosphate and oil. Most guys with just mag phosphate or if you have zinc you can often get by soaking longer in zinc.
San Jose = semi-gloss black
