What color black is used to paint the aluminum trim panel on a 69 gauge cluster? This is the long-oblong aluminum trim around all four gauges. It looks like a semi gloss. Anybody know what color to use?
Haven’t brought the new project home yet so I’m working on what parts I brought home!
I’d say it is more matte, think I used SEM trim black.

I’ve found the sheen of Duplicolor’s Engine Enamel in Low Gloss Black to very close. It’s cheaper and more accessable than SEM. But the interior trim is something you only need to do once. So, paying a little more is worth it if you think the sheen is more appropriate. Duplicolor also has a semigloss black. I thought it was a little too shiney.
Tried the SEM trim black and it looks almost flat. Not what I expected at all. Maybe I’ll try the Duplicolor Engine Enamel instead.
I guess I was up way to late last night. The color/sheen looks perfect with the SEM Trim Black.
