The top on my 69 convertible, almost closes! The last inch can be a real problem.
There doesn’t appear to be any leaks anywhere, so is it simply a case of possibly topping up the fluid right to the top, or is a bleed necessary.
This isn’t a new problem, it’s been like this the last seven years

I’m surprised there was no response to this question!
My convertible tops need to be pulled down the last almost inch. I need to pull the header down so the hooks will engage, then close the latches.

Missed this one last fall. It was a shit show.
My top hits the header such that I can latch the DS but the PS requires me to hit the switch to drive it down or, push it down from outside the car.
My 73 top behaves like that.
The takeaway is the top frames are not a precision mechanism.

Lack of precision mechanism!
The tops have always been an issue. There are a few adjustments as per the shop manuals. The one I think might help is the eccentric hex at the rear top of each side.
Thanks for the replies and useful advice. I shall investigate further…
