'69 Cougar 15 x 7 Wheel fitment

I have a a 69 428 coupe and I want to put the “Cougar” style 15 x 7 rims with F60 x 15 polyglass tires on it. I have asked multiple people and get a 50/50 will/won’t fit. I notice on picture somewhere Don Rush seems to have the 15" Cougar wheels on a green convertible although you can’t tell the tires size. Since the tires are pretty expensive and non-returnable I would like to know from somebody that has done it, did it rub on the front fender. It looks pretty close, thanks.

I was able to fit 15x7 magnum 500 repro wheels on my '67 on all four corners, wrapped the rear with 225/60 in the front and 245/60 in the rear. No rubbing whatsoever!

Also the backspacing on the wheels were 4.25" if I remember correctly. No fenders were rolled and still have the wheel well trim as well

I have fitted Magnum 500 wheels to my 1969 cougar convertible with Mastercraft tyres P235/60/R15 (Australian specs) tyres. There is enough clearance at the front fenders but I wouldn’t go much higher profile than that. Looks great!

I have 15 x7 rim with 225/60/15 on the front and 15 x 8 rim with 245/60/15 on the back of my 69 convertible. The front has been lowered 1" with spring kit from WCCC and performance springs on the rear. The fronts work perfect the rear may bump under heavy load and a big bump. No problems with rear Air shocks

I run 215/65 and have had passenger fender scraping… Here is a visual on your 60 ask… website is tiresize.com

I’m currently running 245/45-17” on 17” x 8” front wheels upfront and 274/40-17” on 17” x 9.5” rear wheels. Lowered at least 2” though I’ve never measured to confirm.

On my '69 I have 15x7s (4-1/4" backspacing) with 235/60r15 in front and 245/60r15 on the rear. The front is lowered approximatley 1-1/4" from stock height and I have not had any rubbing issues.
